SOV-4a – Service Constraints

The SOV-4a specifies constraints that apply to implementations of services.

To better enable consistency and re-use of service specifications, it is important to set constraints on how a service should behave. An SOV-4a specifies constraints against services to which implementations of must conform.

Usage

The intended usage of the SOV-4a includes:

  • Service specification.
  • Service governance.

Creating a Service Constraints table

To create a Service Constraints table:

  1. Click on Service Constraints in the Action Artifact area, and then select Create New Diagram.
  2. Type the diagram name and press Enter.
  3. This opens a table where you can create and manage service constraints. Click on New Constraint above the table to create a new row of service constraints.
  4. Click on the cell of the Constrained Elements column and select the ServiceSpecification to be constrained. ServiceSpecification are defined in S1.
  5. Enter the constraint in the Rule Specification cell.
