A3 – Architecture Correspondence

ISO/IEC/IEEE42010 introduces the idea of architecture correspondence and correspondence rules. Quoting from ISO/IEC/IEEE 42010; “A correspondence defines a relation between AD (Architecture Description) elements. Correspondences are used to express architecture relations of interest within an architecture description (or between architecture descriptions). Correspondences can be governed by correspondence rules. Correspondence rules are used to enforce relations within an architecture description (or between architecture descriptions).”

Usage

The intended usage of the A3 includes:

  • Dependency analysis across architectures.

Creating an Architecture Correspondence table

To create an Architecture Correspondence table:

  1. Click on Architecture Correspondence in the Action Artifact area.
  2. This opens the table of Architecture Correspondence. Click on New Package above the table to create a new row of the architecture description.
  3. Enter the name of the architecture.
  4. Select the dependent architecture(s) if necessary.
