C1 – Capability Taxonomy

The C1 Capability Taxonomy Viewpoint is concerned with the identification of capabilities and the hierarchical relationships between them. C1 Views specifies all the capabilities that are referenced throughout one or more architectures – i.e. one C1 may provide the definitive list of capabilities for a number of logical and resource architectures.

Usage

The intended usage of the C1 includes:

  • Identification of existing and required capabilities.
  • Source for the derivation of cohesive sets of Key User Requirements (KURs).
  • Providing reference capabilities for multiple architectures.

Creating a Capability Taxonomy diagram

To create a Capability Taxonomy diagram:

  1. Click on Capability Taxonomy in the Action Artifact area, and then select Create New Diagram.
  2. Type the diagram name and press Enter.
  3. A blank diagram is created and you can start constructing the view. You can create Capabilities and connect them through the tools under the diagram toolbar.
