Define a set of Architecture Principles that is appropriate to the enterprise.
Principles are general rules and guidelines, intended to be enduring and seldom amended, which informs and supports the way in which an organization sets about fulfilling its mission. Merely having a written statement that is called a principle does not mean that the principle is good, even if everyone agrees with it.
TOGAF 9 distinguishes four categories of architecture principles:
- Business Principles
- Data Principles
- Application Principles
- Technology Principles
