The CV-7 describes the mapping between the capabilities required and the activities that enable those capabilities.
It is important to ensure that the services match the required capability. The CV-7 presents a mapping between capability analyzed using CVs and services analyzed using SvcVs, which helps in identifying how services can be performed using various available capability elements. The capability to service mappings may include both situations where a service fully satisfies the desired capability and those where the service only partially meets the capability requirement.
Usage
The intended usage of the CV-7 includes:
- Tracing capability requirements to services.
- Capability audit.
Product Description
CV-7 has two products:
- Capability to Services Mapping (Diagram)
- Capability to Services Mapping (Matrix)
Capability to Services Mapping (Diagram)
A diagram that visualizes that mapping between Capabilities and Services.
Capability to Services Mapping (Matrix)
A non-editable matrix is available to presents the information modeled in Capability to Services Mapping (Diagram). The rows are the Capabilities and the columns are the Services. An intersection (i.e. cell) with an Exhibits icon indicates that the corresponding capability may be utilized in support of that service whereas a blank indicates that it does not.
Creating a Capability to Services Mapping (diagram)
A CV-7 is presented as a diagram showing tracing relationships from Capabilities to Service Resources.
To create a Capability to Services Mapping:
- Click on Capability to Services Mapping in the Action Artifact area, and then select Create New Diagram.
- Type the diagram name and press Enter.
- A blank diagram is created and you can start constructing the view.
- Reuse Capabilities (recommended) through dragging and dropping them from the Model Explorer. Capabilities are defined in CV-2.
- Reuse service resources (CapabilityConfigurations / ResourceArchitecture / Systems / ResourceMitigations / SecurityEnclaves / Organizations / Person / Posts / Responsibilities / Projects / NaturalResources / ResourceArtifacts / Software / Technologies / KnownResources) (recommended) through dragging and dropping them from the Model Explorer. These resources are defined under Services viewpoints.
- Connect Capabilities and service resources with Exhibits connectors.
Creating a Capability to Services Mapping (matrix)
To open the Capability to Services Mapping (matrix):
- Click on Capability to Services Mapping in the Action Artifact area.
- View the relationships between Capabilities and service resource (CapabilityConfigurations / ResourceArchitecture / Systems / ResourceMitigations / SecurityEnclaves / Organizations / Person / Posts / Responsibilities / Projects / NaturalResources / ResourceArtifacts / Software / Technologies / KnownResources), which are listed as rows and columns, respectively. The cells indicate the mapping between elements if one exists
